Sakae Sushi Eat-All-You-Can Roller Sushi at Robinson's Midtown

Last year, my little sister and I have tried Sakae Sushi at Mall of Asia.  Now that another branch has opened near our place, our family decided to try it.

We arrived around 5 p.m., being a non-peak hour, the place was less crowded.  We also noticed that only one conveyor belt is being used rather than two.  We started picking out sushi plates as soon as we got seated.

Miso Soup
The Eat-all-you-can Sushi is priced at 399 php.  Compared to the per plate pricing, you could really save a lot more if you avail of it.  It comes with Bottomless cold or hot Green Tea and a bowl of Miso Soup.  I really like their cold green tea from last time so I ordered it again but some of my family members prefer it hot.

We ate to our hearts content.  These are my favorites for the night.

Hamachi

Unagi

Loves this!  The Yellow part was crunchy.

Mackarel

Salmon (our classic favorite)

Fried Salmon
Here are the rest of the dishes we ate.

I don't know what this is called but it only contained rice.
When you feel you can't it anymore, reset your palate with Pickled Ginger.  That's what we did.  These are already placed on the table.  It looked fresh but I'm not sure if they replace these every time you dine though. It would be unhygienic if they don't since everyone just used their own chopsticks to get some.

How many plates?
Guess how many plates we were able to finish?=p  I consider it a lucky night.  All selections were good.  My previous experience at MOA was not the same.  The selections were mainly Tamagoyaki (egg sushi), California maki and Roe maki.  In fact, I have to admit I was reluctant in coming back.  My little sister also shared with me her similar experience while we were dining.

How about you?  Have you tried it yet?

Cara mia Gelateria at Robinson's Midtown

Gelato means frozen.  Since two years ago, gelatos have become popular that they can be purchased in any mall.  It is said to be healthier than ice cream because it is made with more milk and lesser fat.

One of our favorite dessert place is Caramia.  Caramia means "my dear" in Italian.  It is part of the Amici chain of resturants selling gelato, affogato, gelato shakes and gelato cakes. We often purchase their gelato cakes during special occasion.

Pistacio Gelato
Coconut Sorbetto
After our dinner, my mom had a craving for Caramia's gelato.  Each scoop cost only 70 php.  We ordered Pistacio Gelato, Coconut Sorbetto, Sans Rival, Nocciola (Hazelnut) and Strawberry Supreme.  The best was the Pistacio Gelato but the Coconut Sorbetto was light and refreshing too.  The Strawberry Supreme was also good.  The Sans Rival and Nocciola was too sweet for my taste and it became too tiring too eat after eating at least half of it.  How about you what's your favorite flavor?

Nerf Games and Contest Toys R' Us Event at Robinson's Midtown Atrium

Last Sunday, my family and I went to Robinson's Midtown and saw a lot of Nerf games set up.  There were a lot of kids and adults lining up just to try.  Of course, I wouldn't miss it out too!  I love shooting games! Remember my post about Lazer Xtreme? (see separate entry)

We tried the toughest one.  If you hit 4 targets you get a special prize.  During our entire stay, no one got the prize!  Though I saw a small kid hit 2 when I couldn't even hit at least 1.  The gun had a short range so you have to shoot it at the right angle to get the projectile to enter the holes.  I also found the pressure to be a bit inconsistent.  Some of my shots were fast some were slow.

The other games were too crowded by little kids so I didn't bother to try. I just watched at how cool Nerf models are.  Wish there were toys like that when I was little.  It lets you aim and shoot and yet it was harmless.

I didn't know how to use a Nerf that looks like a riffle so the small boy behind me thought me how.  It has an air pump so it was powerful that it was very easy to aim at the center for 100 points.  To bad this game didn't have a prize eh?

5th TAGCOM Toys & Hobbies Convention

There was a 3-day event held at Robinson's Midtown Atrium, Ermita, Manila from May 20-22, 2011.  My brother went on the first day to buy collectible toys.  During the first day, only racks of toys were displayed and no other events were held.

We had the chance to pass by last Sunday May 22.   Admission was FREE.  The place was swarming.  There were many cosplayers and fans.  There were were many audience too.  Not only in the ground floor but for the second and third floors.  Too bad we couldn't stay for long=(
