Chavit Singson's Baluarte Zoo in Vigan, Ilocos Sur

When visiting Vigan, they say it is a must to visit Baluarte zoo and I have to agree.  Despite it being free, it unique since some of the domesticated animals are only semi-caged.  The fence are actually open.  Kids can also ride small horses and carts pulled by ponies.

                        While people were laughing and taking pictures, the tiger almost scratched a kid.  He also jump in rage so we were told to leave this area.

                  Definitely worth the trip despite the intense heat.  It's free and fun too.  It's a perfect place to bring along kids.

1. Bring bottled water
2. Wear sunglasses, cap or use umbrella during sunny hours
3. Don't miss the highlight: Bengal Tigers on the uphill part and butterfly sanctuary
